Commercial Banking

Regulatory, transactional and disputes advice for banks and their customers.

Overview

Banks operate under close supervision by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation. We advise banks on regulation, lending and recovery, and represent banks and customers in disputes.

We advise on the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act 2020, CBN licensing and prudential guidelines, recapitalisation, corporate governance and consumer protection rules. We document facilities and security, review products and customer terms, and advise on anti-money laundering and data protection compliance.

We represent banks and customers in debt recovery, enforcement of security, fraud and account disputes and regulatory proceedings, at all levels up to the Supreme Court.
