Regulatory

Intellectual Property

Registration, licensing, enforcement and commercialisation of trade marks, patents, designs and copyright.

Overview

Brands, inventions and creative works are often a business’s most valuable assets. We help clients protect them in Nigeria, license them on clear terms and act when they are infringed.

We handle trade mark searches, applications and oppositions, patent and industrial design filings, and copyright notification with the Nigerian Copyright Commission. We draft licensing, franchise, technology transfer and assignment agreements and advise on registering technology transfer agreements with NOTAP.

On enforcement we send demand letters, seek injunctions and Anton Piller orders, bring infringement and passing-off claims at the Federal High Court, and work with regulators to stop counterfeit goods.
