Advice on the Climate Change Act 2021, energy transition projects, carbon markets and climate-related risk for businesses and governments.

Overview

The Climate Change Act 2021 created a national framework for emissions reduction and climate adaptation, and climate considerations now shape financing, procurement and regulation. We help clients understand their obligations and the opportunities that follow.

We advise on the duties the Act places on public bodies and larger private entities, the work of the National Council on Climate Change, and the regulatory treatment of carbon credits and climate finance. We also advise on renewable energy and clean cooking projects, and on climate clauses in commercial contracts.

For governments and agencies we provide legislative drafting and policy advice, and for businesses we review exposure to climate-related regulatory, physical and litigation risk.
